Honor MagicOS Gets a July Refresh: Better Animations, Smarter Lock Screen, and Cross-Device 120Hz Casting

Honor is rolling out a July update for its MagicOS that touches nearly every part of the phone experience — animations, the lock screen, the YOYO assistant, and cross-device connectivity. The changes were shared by leaker @旺仔百事通, and they add up to more than a routine patch.

The update introduces dynamic photo watermarks for the camera, letting users stamp their shots with automatically generated overlays that include time, location, and weather data. Game players get app cloning support for top titles, meaning two accounts on one phone without third-party workarounds.

The headline feature might be three-device 120Hz screen casting — a first for the industry, according to the leak. It lets users mirror their phone screen to two external displays simultaneously at full 120Hz refresh rate. That matters for anyone who uses their phone as a mobile workstation or presents from it regularly.

On the lock screen side, MagicOS adds 3D photo support — the system reads depth data from portrait shots and creates a parallax effect when you tilt the phone. Widgets get more useful too: Bluetooth earbud battery levels, world clock tiles, a Baidu scan shortcut, and a timer are all joining the roster.

Honor MagicOS July update features

YOYO, Honor’s voice assistant, picks up a practical upgrade: one-command WeChat control. Users can dictate a WeChat message, start a voice call, or initiate a video call entirely by voice. It’s a small change but removes a friction point for hands-free use — while driving, cooking, or just not wanting to tap.

Honor hasn’t announced an exact release date for the update, but the feature list suggests it will land as an OTA push sometime this month.
