Tecno Camon Slim Packs a 5,600mAh Battery and Mini-LED Back Panel into a 6.39mm Frame

Tecno has unveiled the Camon Slim, an entry-level smartphone that pushes the boundaries of thin-and-light design without sacrificing battery life. At just 6.39mm thick, the Camon Slim joins the Spark Slim in Tecno’s growing lineup of ultra-slim devices — but what sets it apart is the unusual LED panel embedded in the camera module.

Despite its slender profile, the Camon Slim houses a 5,600mAh battery with support for 60W wired charging — a combination that should easily deliver all-day endurance. Up front, a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display runs at a resolution of 2720×1224 pixels with a silky 144Hz refresh rate, promising fluid scrolling and responsive touch.

Under the hood, the Camon Slim is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G200 Ultimate processor paired with 8GB of RAM. Storage options include 128GB and 256GB, both expandable via microSD up to 2TB. The phone ships with Android 16 and Tecno’s HiOS 16.2 skin, though the company has yet to disclose its long-term software update commitment.

The headline feature, however, is the camera island. Tecno has fitted a 354-Mini-LED panel into the rear camera module, preloaded with 55 distinct lighting effects capable of displaying notifications and other interactive cues. It’s a distinctive twist on the notification LED concept — essentially a small “back screen” that adds personality without the bulk of a full secondary display.

For photography, the Camon Slim carries a 50-megapixel main sensor (1/1.56-inch) alongside a flicker sensor, while a 32-megapixel front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.

Rounding out the package are Dolby Atmos-tuned dual speakers, an IR blaster, NFC, and both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance — unusually robust protection for a device in this segment. The Camon Slim will be available in five colorways: Mondrian, Prism Black, Jungle Green, Van Gogh Blue, and Burgundy Red. Pricing and launch dates have not yet been announced.
