Apple WatchOS 27 Beta 4 Brings Siri AI to Your Wrist

Siri on the Apple Watch has always felt a step behind — constrained by hardware, limited in what it could do without a phone nearby. That changes with watchOS 27. Beta 4, released Tuesday, brings Siri AI to the wrist, and it’s more than just a faster voice assistant.

The headline feature is Siri AI, which now supports back-and-forth conversations and can tap into both general knowledge and personal data to answer questions. There’s a catch — it needs an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, which means iPhone 15 Pro or newer. The Apple Watch does the talking, but the brain lives on the phone.

Beyond Siri, Apple redesigned the app grid with dynamic behavior. Frequently used apps surface higher, and Siri-suggested apps get highlighted. The Smart Stack recommendations have also become more context-aware, surfacing the right info card at the right time.

A new unified Find My app lands in this build, complete with Precision Finding for supported devices. The Liquid Glass interface got a readability pass, and the Fitness Companion — the feature that lets you follow a workout without an iPhone nearby — now tracks progressive metrics like distance, pace, and duration instead of just raw numbers.

Parked car detection, pinned messages, noise alerts, and transit card support round out the practical additions. Apple also says the build includes performance optimizations aimed at better battery life, though how much that translates to real-world use remains to be seen.

The beta is available to registered developers through the Watch app on iPhone — the usual routine of installing a profile and letting the update roll. Public beta testers can join through Apple’s Beta Software Program. Either way, Apple recommends keeping your Watch charged above 50% and connected to Wi-Fi before installing.

All Apple Watch models compatible with watchOS 27 can run this build, with the single exception of the Apple Watch Ultra 3, which remains excluded for now. If you are already on the watchOS 27 train, the update should appear in the Watch app on your iPhone. Beta 4 lands two weeks after Beta 3 and follows the same cadence Apple has maintained throughout this cycle, suggesting a fall public release is still on track.
