MSI's latest gaming monitors push 320Hz on IPS and 180Hz on a curved VA panel

MSI has refreshed its MAG series gaming monitors with two new models aimed at different corners of the competitive gaming market. The MAG 274QPF X32 is a flat 27-inch Rapid IPS panel that pushes 320Hz refresh rates at 2560x1440, while the MAG 325CQPF E18 brings a 31.5-inch 180Hz Rapid VA display with a pronounced 1000R curve.

The 27-inch model is built for speed. Its Rapid IPS panel delivers a 0.5ms GtG response time and 320Hz refresh rate — numbers that put it squarely in esports territory. Color coverage is strong, hitting 97% of DCI-P3 and 95% of Adobe RGB, with 10-bit color depth via 8-bit + FRC dithering. Peak HDR brightness reaches 400 nits, giving it enough headroom for basic HDR gaming without a premium price tag.

On the connectivity front, MSI equipped it with one DisplayPort 1.4a and two HDMI 2.1 ports — the HDMI 2.1 support is a meaningful addition for console gamers pushing 1440p at high frame rates. The stand offers height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments, and VESA 100x100mm mounting is supported for those using monitor arms.

The 31.5-inch MAG 325CQPF E18 takes a different approach. Its Rapid VA panel runs at 180Hz with the same 0.5ms GtG response time, but wraps it in a 1000R curve — tight enough to create a sense of immersion without distorting the image at the edges. Color coverage is more modest here at 85% DCI-P3 and 85% Adobe RGB, but still respectable for SDR gaming. The trade-off shows in brightness and connectivity: this model caps out at 300 nits SDR with no HDR spec listed, and drops to two HDMI 2.0b ports instead of 2.1.

Both monitors share a few core traits: 1000:1 typical contrast ratios, 100x100mm VESA mounts, and 3.5mm headphone jacks. The curved model’s stand skips swivel but retains height, tilt, and pivot adjustments.

MSI hasn’t announced pricing or availability yet, but the specs suggest these are mid-range offerings designed for a crowded segment — fast refresh rates with reasonable color accuracy, no gimmick features inflating the sticker price.
